Join the Global Refugee Network
Find candidates, and let refugees find you. Any organisation that serves refugees can apply, wherever it works. The more refugee data you need, the more we check.
What you get
- Find candidates
- Search anonymised profiles across the network. AI matching ranks candidates against your requirements and explains why each one fits.
- Be seen
- List your employment, training, migration or settlement services so refugees on the network can find them as part of one journey.
- Better data, better services
- High-quality shared data helps you design services around the specific needs of individuals and the broader needs of the refugee population.
- Help to connect
- Many providers have little in-house technical capacity. Whether you need a turnkey solution or engineering oversight, our team will help you integrate.
Who can join
Your level depends on the refugee data you need, never on the kind of organisation you are. Each level includes everything in the one before.
Listings and platforms
You need no refugee data.
Public services, hotlines and free courses that refugees contact directly, and free platforms such as online courses, language apps and job sites that GRN opens to refugees without passing on their data.
Renewed every 24 months
Service providers
You need some refugee data to deliver a service, always with each refugee’s consent.
Charities and NGOs, companies and social enterprises, education, training and language providers, professional and credential bodies, and employers and recruiters.
Renewed every 24 months, or every 12 if you recruit or receive personal data
Institutional partners
You receive wider refugee profiles, including sensitive information, or share data with other organisations.
Governments and public bodies, settlement providers and case-management organisations.
Renewed every 12 months
What we check at each levelHiring refugeesFor settlement services
GRN is free for refugees
Refugees never pay to use GRN, and partners never charge them for a referral through it.
Your access to candidate data, and the delivery of any support, depends on each refugee agreeing to it. No data is shared without their explicit consent, and charging for access or a referral can lead to immediate removal from the network.
Partners pay a software licence, so the cost of maintaining GRN is shared fairly across the organisations that use it.
How joining works
You fill in the application online. Everything after you submit is our job, and people make every decision.
Sign in with your email
Use an address at your organisation’s own domain. We send a one-time code each time you sign in, so there is no password, and you can stop and come back whenever you like.
Tell us what data you need
A few questions about the refugee data you need, how you will hold it and who else will see it. Your answers set your level, and we show you the level and the reasons before you go on.
Affirm the GRN Principles
Read each principle and tick each commitment. We keep a dated record of what you affirmed.
Answer the questions for your level
You only see the questions your level needs. Upload your evidence as you go, and see what is still missing before you submit.
Confirm and submit
An authorised officer confirms the answers are true and that we may run the checks, by ticking and dating the declaration.
We check and decide
We check registries, sanctions lists and public sources, and may ask you questions. People make every decision, never software alone. You get the outcome with a plain-language reason, and you can ask for one review.
Agree terms and get started
Once approved, you agree the software licence, complete onboarding training and go live on GRN. Your listing shows your level and renewal date.
Checks you’ve already passed
If a trusted body has already checked you, send proof instead of repeating the work. We confirm it with the issuer, and still screen every applicant against sanctions lists.
- UN Partner Portal
- Organisations already verified on the portal can upload proof instead of repeating the registration, ownership and funding questions.
- UN assessment on sexual exploitation and abuse
- A positive result from any UN agency, still within its validity, replaces our self-assessment.
- IOM IRIS ethical recruitment
- Certified recruiters skip the fair-recruitment declaration. We still need a sample contract.
- Government settlement contracts
- Providers contracted by a government, such as Australia’s Humanitarian Settlement Program, can enter as institutional partners on the strength of the contract.
Small and refugee-led organisations
A lighter route for organisations that need no refugee data or deliver services.
- An endorsement letter from an established partner can replace a funder reference.
- You can adopt our policy templates for safeguarding and privacy as your own.
- Our team can help you complete and submit the application.
- A personal email address is fine if your organisation has no domain of its own.
